What Makes The
Snake River AVA Unique?

From our high-altitude vineyard to our carefully selected varietals, each element of our winemaking process is designed to highlight the distinctive qualities of our land.

Elevation

The 2,440-foot altitude of our vineyard benefits our vines by providing cooler nights that balance the warm, sunny days. This diurnal temperature variation is crucial for enhancing the grapes' acidity and flavor complexity, resulting in wines with vibrant, well-rounded profiles.

Rainfall

With an average annual rainfall of just 11 inches, the Snake River AVA is characterized by its dry climate. This limited precipitation, combined with well-drained soils, encourages our vines to develop deep root systems in search of water, fostering resilience and concentrating the flavors in our grapes.

Varietals Planted

Our vineyard is home to Merlot, Malbec, Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petit Verdot. Each varietal is carefully selected and nurtured to express the distinct characteristics of our terroir, resulting in wines that are rich, complex, and full of character.

Aspect/Slope

Positioned on a gentle 30-degree north-facing slope, our vines enjoy optimal sunlight exposure throughout the day, while the rocky terrain ensures excellent drainage. This combination of aspect and slope helps our grapes achieve full ripeness, enhancing their flavor intensity and balance.

Climate

The climate of the Snake River AVA is defined by its hot summers and cold winters, creating the ideal conditions for our grapes. The warm growing season ensures that our grapes develop the sugars and phenolic compounds necessary for producing wines with depth and complexity.

Sunshine Hours

With more than 300 days of sunshine each year, an abundance of sunlight allows our grapes to achieve optimal ripeness, enhancing their flavor intensity and aromatic complexity. The generous sunlight exposure, combined with our unique terroir, contributes to the rich, full-bodied character of our wines.
